Waiting...

Let's think of something to do while we're waiting
While we're waiting for something new to do.
Let's try to think up a song while we're waiting
That's liberating and will be true to you.
Let's think of something to do while we're waiting
While we're waiting 'til something's through.

You know it's really all right;
In fact, it's downright quite bright
To think of something to do
That's specific for you.
Let's think of something to do while we're waiting.

I use this line, not necessarily the song, all the time with my daughter. It's such a common sense thing to say, but for me it wouldn't necessarily come to mind naturally. I think my, and a lot of parent's instincts might be to say "Go do something!" to a child who's bored or impatient waiting for something. Let's think of something to do while we're waiting, really emphasizes that it's in your power to eliminate boredom, and what you think of to do has the potential to be just as interesting as what you're waiting for.
