This one is one of my favorites. Especially the NOMB segment. I have this one (one of the only few MRN DVDs available). Which episode was it that Daniel and Lady Aberlin played with the walkie-talkie (string/can)? This was another time that we got a chance to see beyond the realm of NOMB.
Yeah, I love it too. I got my nephew the DVD for Christmas when he was 2. He was playing with his other presents while I was glued the TV watching it. :-) It's so neat to see inside X's tree and the secret garden. I think this is the week that you are talking about, Mike. If I remember, the string can walkie-talkie is on Friday of this week.
I was born in 1982 so this episode is kinda special for me. This episode is also one of the few episodes that Fred actually mentions/refers to going to the bathroom "in case you need to go."
One obscure part of this episode is the "lift a latch, find a patch of watermelon blue" part. Just like having the wheelchair episode tagged on before the gorilla episodes in You and I Together, it has always seemed strange that the picnic (wrapping up the lessons they learned so far) is on Thursday of this week. Until I started looking at epsiode numbers, I thought there was another episode I had never seen where Mr. McFeely found the blue watermelon (which he obviously does). I wonder if the original script had something more about it (such as behind a blue gate near the clock?).
So you all know the what we are seeing is Hen's house or at least her kitchen not X's home which we see on 1586 nighttime and 1716 to 1720 be yourself that's the best week I love all the programs that showed inside the Castle the Factory the Tree (both Hen's House and X's home) Museum Go Round and the platypus mound hope this helps your neighbor Lawrence
Good call Lawrence -- Going back and listening a bit closer, after X offers to use his OCS cookbook, Henrietta offers up her kitchen: "Meow meow meow meow meow kitchen meow. Meow meow make fruit salad meow meow picnic tomorrow meow meow." I'll adjust the details on this episode as necessary.
I have to agree with you Lawrence about liking the episodes in which we get to see the inside of the major landmarks. When I was little I wondered the week that the Neighborhood pool was being built how that was going to happen.
A $1.87 cheese sandwich. My son loves this episode, and since it's one that is available on DVD, I've watched it over and over again. That's some cheese sandwich for $1.87 :). The episode helped my son learn what a restuarant is.
Yeah, I can get just a regular BLT sandwich on whole wheat for like almost $4.00 at the local hangout around the corner from where I live. How times have changed.

I forgot to add that this is also the only episode in the modern series that Audrey Roth's real full name is mentioned.
One thing about it, Betty Aberlin will always be my first love! I have to wonder how many men have told her that. She is really cute in this episode.
