Up Close: The Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower obviously looks different as it is missing its top. Don't worry, this is not a result of damage but rather a simple matter of the ceiling being lower than the height of the fully-assembled tower.
Again, as with the castle, I took notice of the materials used to make this structure and quickly found that there was nothing that could not be purchased at any local hardware store and lumber yard.
The inside of the Tower reveals a similar set us to the oak tree as you can see a few black curtains hanging which covered the area where the characters would emerge.
Next up, the Rockit Factory...

I appreciate you doing these up close blogs. Could you do one on that picture of trolleys seen in Mister Rogers living room? You know the one I mean?
Steven -- I know exactly what picture you're talking about but unfortunately I don't have any "up close" images of it. The only thing I have is what is seen on the program itself.
So looking forward to the up close of the factory a key note to the weather vain on the factory is that it was on and off during the run of the program you will not see it in 1571 to 1575 dance or the mistake week 1576 to 1580 and I'm sure there are others like that where the weather vain is missing but is there in the Playthings week and Celebration week I hope this helps :)

Since you are doing these up close blogs, could you do one on the trolley tracks that go around the castle garden? Also, how are you going to do a close up on Daniel's Clock?
Steven the Clock is at the Fred Rogers Center if there are any close up's of the Clock it will be the fake one they used in Nov of 2009 for the public so we will see what Tim has for us I plan to go the weekend after next week and see Fred Rogers Center and Trolley Museum the Pittsburgh Children Museum the Fred Rogers statue the monroeville mall and other places except for WQED since they are open to the public as Tim has already talk about in the last few blogs hope this helps

It looks like that's the top of the Eiffel tower in that last picture there, facing away from us and into the tower itself. You can see the red light on top and the extension cord running up to it. Is any of this making anyone else want to make their own full size Neighborhood of Make Believe?
It wasn't until last year that it even dawned on me that the Eiffel tower only had 2 sides. I think I saw the episode where Lady E turns it upside down and I realized that with the point facing downwards, Fred must have been behind the wall to be puppeteering Granpere and have him still appear in the tower- the tower was so close to the wall though that there was no way it could have been the full tower. But of course, because of the angles that it was shot from you never really could tell that there weren't four full sides to the tower.
There are good pictures of the Trolley at http://www.flickr.com/photos/31125160@N03/sets/72157607770734944/. I used those to make my paper model of it.
It would be neat if someone put together a book of pictures of all the Buildings, models, puppets, sets, etc. Something like http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Indiana-Jones-Lucasfilm/dp/0811809722.
