Episode 1004 [1969]

There's been some questions in the past about the Someplace Else song. Well, here's the first episode I've come across with that song. The lyrics I've added may or may not be complete. I suppose we'll see in coming episodes?

Original Air Date: February 13, 1969

Note that the color of the swing is different. I remember that he painted the swing Yellow in an early episode.
I didn't realize that the Frogs were so "short lived" during the first color season. I guess they must have had a bigger role on the B/W episodes. I wonder why Fred chose to write them out of the neighborhood.

Maybe the reason for moving them to Westwood was simply to address the idea of moving. Or perhaps other people found Mrs. Frogg's voice as annoying as I do! I'm not sure who did it (it doesn't sound like Fred to me), and I'm only familar with it from the later appearance where they are planning the Westwood Sandbox, but man, that's an annoying voice. And like Ino A. Horse, I can totally picture kids imitating the voice and annoying their parents. Tim, does Mr. Frogg have a similarly annoying voice?

Scott -- I'll be curios to see when the swing changes. I'm expecting color to be added to the MGR very soon too.

Eric -- I think Mrs. Frogg's voice was done by Hedda Sharapan. As for Mr. Frogg, the best way I can describe his voice is "very throaty."

Eric -- The more I think about this, I almost wonder if moving the Froggs had something to do with the upcoming arrival of Queen Sara. The Froggs moved to Westwood while Sara came from Westwood. Maybe a location swap of some sort to keep the NOM characters evenly distributed?

Also, notice X's door...it'a a Z. I remember Joe Negri helping X turn the Z into an X.
It's interesting that so much happened in these first color episodes: Froggs moving, King Friday getting married. They all happened within, what 20 episodes. Yet, I keep forgeting that there were 130 prior episodes, so given that context these character changes really aren't that sudden.

Any one know when the B/W eps were taking out of circulation? I never watched them growing up and I started watching them in the late 1970s. The rotation always started with 1001.

If Fred is voicing all the puppets, the Froggs' move may have been to eliminate complications of having one puppeteer voicing every puppet!
