Episode 1011 [1969]

Original Air Date: February 24, 1969

Mister Rogers arrives with a carpenter's measuring rule which he unfolds to show that it expands to 72 inches -- exactly his height. After talking about growing, Mister Rogers sings I Like You As You Are as he folds the measuring rule into various shapes. He also shares a short animated film showing a measuring rule taking on different forms.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, the castle is filling quickly with wedding presents. As each new present is delivered, it is measured by Robert Troll and then passed along to Lady Aberlin to put inside the castle. After they read an extensive list of the presents which have been received already, Mr. McFeely arrives with more. With nowhere to store these presents, Robert Troll shapes his carpenter's rule into the form of a house where the excess gifts might be kept.

Back at the house, Mister Rogers continues singing I Like You As You Are before Mr. McFeely stops on his way to the Neighorhood of Make-Believe with more presents for King Friday and Sara Saturday.

Is Mr. McFeely as hyper in the 69 season as he was in 68, or did he mellow out at this point. I read somewhere that they address the fact that he calms down at some early point in the series

He's definitely still in his extra-hyper mode in these episodes.

After reviewing a 1969 clip , in episode 1456, Mr. McFeely states that he use to talk alot faster, and alot louder back in the day. But I do wonder when he started to slow down?
