Episode 0032 [1968]

Original Air Date: April 2, 1968

Mister Rogers has been thinking about monsters and talks about pretending. Arriving with a collection of masks, he tries them on and shows that he is still Mister Rogers underneath. He then sings I Like You As You Are.

Joe Negri stops by to question Mister Rogers for his survey about the red monster. They have a feeling that monsters are not real.

In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, King Friday has installed a radar system to detect any presence of a monster. Handyman Negri reports that no one in the real Neighborhood has seen the monster that frightened Sara Saturday; nor have they ever seen any monster.

Continuing his survey in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe, Handyman Negri stops to talk with Daniel Tiger and sings I'm a Detective. Daniel and X the Owl inform Handyman Negri that they have not seen the red monster and they agree to help him complete his survey throughout the Neighborhood. They quickly find that no one has seen the monster.

Back at the house, Mister Rogers enjoys some milk and cookies with Betty Aberlin who arrives dressed in a homemade monster costume. Mr. McFeely delivers an invitation to the Neighborhood Ballet Company.
